Players can play in a higher section if they are within 100 points of the higher section, or at the tournament director's discretion. Byes: If you can’t make it to all of the rounds then you may take a half-point bye (limit 1) for any round. Byes must be requested from the tournament director before the tournaments starts. CK&Q reserves the right to merge sections, but will only do so in order to make a four-round event possible in both sections -- this is rare. If combined, additional trophies and/or medals will be added as Under 600 class prizes, such that the stronger players don't win all the awards at the expense of beginner players. When combining sections, accelerated pairings may be used at the director's discretion.
